My Analysis of “Better with Pepsi” Campaign
The advertising campaign by PepsiCo, “Better with Pepsi”, is a persuasive marketing initiative aimed at increasing the loyalty of the brand while disputing Coca-Cola’s supremacy in the fast food industry. This particular campaign includes images that are striking, it features burger wrappers from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King that are crumpled. These images are shaped into the Pepsi logo, along with the tagline “Better with Pepsi.” This campaign’s target is customers that most likely eat at fast food places, and more particularly younger consumers who are driven visually and experience joy in catchy messaging. The objective of this campaign is to persuade consumers that Pepsi is above other soft drinks, and it is the superior soft drink choice to have along with their favorite fast food meals, despite the fact that these chains mostly serve Coca-Cola.
This Pepsi campaign relies strongly on persuasive visual strategies and emotional appeals. The crumpled burger wrappers bring out brand familiarity while simultaneously forming Pepsi’s logo, creating a subconscious relevance between the experience people have at fast food places and Pepsi. Because the campaign used familiar colors and textures like the McDonald’s yellow and red, it increases brand recognition and it grabs the audience’s attention. Emotional appeals tend to be strong in this campaign as the idea of Pepsi tasting better is more so subjective and personal, yet the visuals foster a truth that is meant to be received as universal.
The campaign however, brings forth many ethical worries and it shows clear brand bias. The campaign only presents Pepsi’s viewpoint and does not offer any alternatives or counter arguments related to the widespread presence of Coca-Cola in fast food chains. The campaign has no data to back up the claim that consumers fast food meals are “better with Pepsi”. The campaign also does not show any consideration toward Coca-Cola, as to why Coca-Cola may be the preferred drink served by fast food chain restaurants. In omitting the fact that many fast food chain restaurants do not actually serve Pepsi, the campaign fogs the line between advertisement and the truth, which potentially misleads consumers into thinking that a partnership exists. It creates a one sided narrative that tweaks the consumer loyalty and their emotional association.
To conclude, although the “Better with Pepsi” campaign is brilliantly creative and it is in fact visually impact, it utilizes data that is selective, it uses emotional manipulation, and it uses suggestive imagery to foster a biased narrative. As a technical writer I believe that it is important to critically scope persuasive strategies and maintain awareness of ethical boundaries.

The Expenditure of Safe Green Spaces in Rogers Park
Introduction
My neighborhood, Rogers Park, is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood in Chicago. However, Rogers Park lacks accessibility and safe green spaces for families and youth, especially in areas that are densely populated and are limited to transportation options.
Problem Statement
Rogers Park is filled with beautiful parks such as Loyola and Touhy, these are not evenly distributed, which leaves some residents without easy access to maintained outdoor areas. Residents that lack reliable transportation face significant barriers. In addition, many vacant lots suffer from neglect, lacking fencing and maintenance, which ultimately invites illegal activities and poses safety risks.
Proposed Solution
The City of Chicago should collaborate with specific local nonprofits and associations, like the Rogers Park Business Alliance and Loyola University, to recover vacant lots into community gardens and mini-parks. These spaces should be cleaned, and have fences for safety, and these spaces should also be equipped with seating, community art projects, and greenery all for the good of the community. In partnering with these organizations, it will help ensure long-term engagement and maintenance.
Benefits
Transforming vacant lots will encourage a safer, healthier community by providing youth with designated play areas and discourage illegal loitering and dumping. It also provides green infrastructure, allows for walkability, and it can surely raise the values of nearby properties over time. In creating safe, welcoming public spaces, we strengthen neighborhood pride and social cohesion.
Conclusion
We can transform unused neighborhood spaces by recuperating lots that are neglected, which in turn will turn these spaces into important community assets. A strategic first step is to schedule a meeting with the 49th Ward Alderman’s office which will be a proper route to get things going, and this meeting will potentially identify possible lots and talk about funding through Chicago’s Neighborhood Opportunity Fund.

The Benefit of Cybersecurity Software in the Workplace
In today’s digital landscape, businesses rely heavily on technology to optimize their operations. Because of this heavy reliance on technology, businesses are exposed to a large amount of cyber threats, which makes cybersecurity software significant when it comes to organizational infrastructure. Tools like firewalls, antivirus programs, and intrusion detection systems play a crucial role in safeguarding organizational infrastructure. I will dive into the importance of cybersecurity software by analyzing insights from two reliable sources.
Source 1
IBM provides an annual report that shows a comprehensive analysis of data breach trends and the implications of those breach trends financially, The 2024 edition of IBM’s annual report shows that the average global cost of data breach globally has increased to $4.88 million, which marks a 10% inflation from 2023. It is shown that companies that have integrated AI and automation in their security protocols that they have set, have experienced a decrease of $2.2 million in the costs of breaches compared to the one without these technologies. Additionally, these companies have managed to catch and get hold of breaches 98 days quicker typically. Because of IBM’s stature as an authoritative entity in the sector of technology, this source is deemed credible. The data is accurate because it has a foundation of real-world breaches that are analyzed in collaboration with the Institute of Ponemon, which ensures a rigid and factual basis for the research.

An article from the Forbes Technology Council reinforces that cybersecurity is not only a technical concern but it is a strategic business importance. It emphasizes that vigorous cybersecurity protocols can act as a competitive advantage, which encourages the trust of customers and it protects the reputation of companies. This article also talks about the revolution of the regulatory landscape, emphasizing that compliance with cybersecurity quality is super important across many different industries. Forbes has the reputation of being the leading business publication, and Forbes has Technology Council contributors that are experts in their field, which establish the article’s reliability. The goal is clear in its sustained discussion of cybersecurity’s miscellaneous impact on the way businesses run their operations and strategy, without fostering particular services or products.
Conclusion
Both articles from IBM and Forbes collectively underline the increasing significance of cybersecurity software in the current workplace. As cyber threats become sophisticated and prevalent, putting money into advanced cybersecurity solutions is only a defensive strategy but it is also a great way to place measures into business decisions. Understanding the financial risks of data breaches and the reputational stakes of cybersecurity practices arms organizations to make well throughout decisions that protect their assets and improve their position in the market.
